Programming Tips for Mercedes-Benz

Here are some answers to quick questions regarding your vehicle.

Adjusting Height of EASY-PACK Power Tailgate on Mercedes-Benz: 

1. Open the hatch from behind the vehicle.
2. When the tailgate reaches the desired height, press and release the red open/close button on the hatch to hold it in place.
3. Press and hold the same button for 2 seconds until the vehicle beeps - and the height is now stored in memory.
4. To cancel a preset height - when the hatch is open press and hold the red open/close button until the vehicle beeps TWICE and the memory will be cleared, and then steps 1-3 can be used again to set a different height.

Programming Radio Pre-sets for AM/FM/SIRIUS:

1. Select the RADIO button on the centre display.
2. Adjust the tuner to the desired frequency/station.
3. Press and hold the desired 0-9 button on the TELEMATICS pad for 2 seconds until the radio beeps.
4. The preset will now be stored, with the corresponding number appearing in superscript on the radio display.
5. Any preset can be changed using the same steps at any time.

Programming Power Memory Seats:

1. Adjust the respective seat (and power tilt/telescope steering wheel if applicable) to the desired settings.
2. 2Press and release the "M" button, and press the corresponding 1-3 memory button to which the desired setting will be saved. The seat will beep once to verify the setting has been saved.
3. To use the memory function, press and hold the desired button (1-3) until the seat has adjusted to the preset settings.

REST Feature (Residual Engine Sustained Temperature):

1. If your vehicle is equipped with the REST feature on the climate control, the vehicle will maintain the current temperature within the vehicle for 30 minutes after exiting.
2. Upon leaving, press and release the REST button and the vehicle uses the redidual engine heat to keep the vehicle warm.
3. It will automatically disable itself if the vehicle senses a drain on the battery.
4. NOTE: this feature can NOT be used to keep a vehicle cool with the A/C.

 Infrared (IR) Key Fob Uses:

1. If the vehicle has an IR key fob, you can do some neat features from outside the vehicle by pointing it at the BLACK SENSOR located on the driver's side door handle.
2. Press and Hold the UNLOCK button, and the windows/sunroof will open until the button is depressed.
3. Press and Hold the LOCK button and the windows/sunroof will close until the button is depressed.
4. In the instance of a CABRIOLET - the steps can be used to open/close the roof as well without the keys in the ignition.
